Egg Carton Chicks for Easter Crafts

Updated: May 7, 2021

This is probably a classic when it comes to Easter crafts. Egg carton chicks have been around for ages and are such a lovely and fun way to decorate the house, your kid's rooms or even the Garden.

So Easter came around and we were stuck at home, Quarantined and we spent all week crafting. This is something my eldest and I had so much fun doing together.

Again, you can really assemble an entire Coop if you have a lot of egg cartons lying about.

You may need some more craft materials than what I have been showing in my previous posts.

There are some awesome tutorials out there with some very beautiful egg carton chick examples.

But for now, let's focus on simplicity.

1. Cut your egg carton and separate the small egg compartments.

These will become individual chicks.

2. Paint your cut pieces and leave to dry.

If you're in a rush, use a hair dryer to dry them.

You may also need two coats of paint.

I find that first painting them white and then Yellow works better.

3. Once dry, add the eyes.

4. Glue feathers to the backs and leave to dry.

5. Add the beaks.

Cut out little diamond shaped bits and fold them in half to get beaks.

Leave to dry once more and your Easter egg chicks are ready!

I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy craft.
